About

Nature & Wildlife Photographer and Conservationist

Hi! I’m Toby. Nice to meet you!

I am a passionate young person and I love mostly what I do.

Here is a bit of my story: Growing up with a 50 kilo dog „Tinto“, my best buddy at that time, has luckily given me the connection and opened my eyes early on to the individual personalities of animals. Over time a diverse range of pets came into our house. From a hamster to a hedgehog which we raised to get through the cold winter months. To a Jemen chameleon named „Urmel“.

Since elementary school colorful pictures and dreams were floating in my head to become a naturalist and diver. Over time my curiosity to nature and thirst of adventure has developed.

However especially one experience during my highschool term in Australia has encouraged me even more to study biology and be engaged in conservation and science communication. That was when I had the chance to meet a scientist form Heron Island Research Center. I had the memorable opportunity to observe a female turtle laying ping pong sized eggs and the small hatchlings crawling as fast as they could to the ocean! The insight in Bills work and data collection has inspired me a lot.

As a passionate nature and wildlife photographer I am now aspiring to be involved in the conservation storytelling industry. Through photos and articles I try to fascinate and move people emotionally.

„If I like a moment, I mean me personally. I don’t like the distraction of the camera. I just want to stay in it. Right there..right here.“ Life of Walter Mitty movie

„Life is like a camera. Just focus on what’s important and capture the good times.. develop from the negatives and if things don’t work out.. Just take another shot!“ Anonym
